Chris Petit's road movie, in which a factory DJ drives from London to Bristol to investigate his brother's death, has a very German feel to it. Unsurprising as it features Lisa Kruezer, was shot by Wim Wenders' assistant cameraman and even has a piece of graffiti about Astrid Proll. Beautifully shot in black and white, it would look very nice on blu, though the highly impressive opening shot accompanied by the long version of Heroes shows a fair bit of dirt and damage on the BFI DVD. The soundtrack would also benefit from HD.
