Kadokawa is going to be releasing a 4K restoration of Floating Weeds (1959) on June 29, 2018. Unfortunately, English subtitles will not be included on this release.

When I saw this, I was in a state of shock.... “Finally, Floating Weeds” But after all these fantastic releases coming out of Japan with English Subtitles, I guess our luck finally ran out. Damn. Really wanted this one also.

Surely, this means a Criterion edition is on the way. Correct?

The Shochiku releases have had subs but Kadokawa releases rarely (if ever) do.
