Default Roy Scheider's final film, Beautiful Blue Eyes finally released!

Roy Scheider's final movie, "Beautiful Blue Eyes", made in 2007 but never completed finally was released on September 9, 2022 exclusively at Regal Cinemas. The movie has an interesting backstory as to why it wasn't finished until now. You can read about it here: https://nypost.com/2022/09/09/beauti...-back-to-life/

Here is the trailer:

I've seen this movie on Sunday. It was pretty good with some emotional scenes and a very powerful performance by Mr. Scheider! He even had a little bit of humor in some of his scenes. The ending had a twist of sorts. I recommend fans of the late actor to see it!

I just saw this and was the only one in the theater

It was not a great film but I still enjoyed watching it.

So interesting that this film has sat on the shelf and had to wait for CGI to be developed so that the film makers could finish the film since Roy died before the film was finished.

It's only 88 minutes so it's a short film but many scenes could have been fleshed out.

Still this is Roy Scheider's last film so worth watching.

scheider really had an incredible run of great movies from 1971 - 1980. and he doesn’t just do the same thing. he makes some great choice against type.

french connection
klute
the seven ups
jaws
marathon man
sorcerer
all that jazz

still love some of his later work like 52 pick up, romeo is bleeding, night game.

I bought Romeo Is Bleeding on Blu-ray just for Lena Olin. Didn't even know Roy Scheider was in it.

He is easily the best thing in Jaws 2 also. He did it even though he didn't want to.

I too was the only one in the theatre. In fact, I believe I was the only one who watched the movie the whole weekend at the theatre I went to. (I have a habit of looking at the reserved seat selection screens on theatre websites.) I made the extra effort to see and support the film because it was Roy Scheider's last film and his hopes that this would win him his first Oscar. I'm sure once this movie becomes available on streaming services and home media that it will gain a wider audience.

i mean, he doesn’t have a huge or super meaty role. more supporting. but it’s still nice to see him in movies.

always wonder if part of the reason he was unhappy on jaws 2 was the reception for sorcerer. plus creative differences from the deer hunter. maybe it wasn’t the best time creatively.

i wonder what is other universal film could have been if he didn’t have jaws 2 count as 2 pictures in his seal.

Roy does deserve a lifetime achievement Oscar but this performance is not Oscar worthy.

Still I am so glad I watched his last film, he was still very good in it and tried to do his best with a script that should have been fleshed out. It's possible that there was more to this film but Roy died which is why the film is only 88 minutes long.

I don't love All That Jazz

But I am a big Bob Fosse fan especially his choreography

Roy is great in it though

and yes, put out the 4K, the film deserves it

Hope to see this film when it becomes available to stream. I always liked Scheider on screen. He could do "intense" as well as anyone. His best career years were in the 1970's and I never quite understood why his career seemed to decline so suddenly after that short run of about 10 years. Among the films he made after his career had begun to slide, I particularly like 52 Pick-up.

Must add an honorable mention for "blue thunder" and " 2010" from the eighties both deserve some 4k attention.
