Default BDP-S1 featured in "Casino Royale"

Saw "Casino Royale" last night and besides it being a superb Bond flick, Sony was doing some serious product placement. Not in a way that was distracting of course. I just happen to be a little more sensitive to noticing these things

Anyway, saw a couple shots of Sony Vaio laptops, but the pleasant surprise came when Bond pops a disc into the Sony BDP-S1. It's unmistakably the BDP-S1 and you see the Blu-Ray disc logo on the tray when he opens it. You also get see the front display a bit too.

The onslaught has certainly begun. Sony's finally starting to kick it into high gear.

Footnote: This is actually a damned good movie and I think Craig has hushed the haters.

Speaking of 007: Casino Royale, have you seen one of the scenes where they had FIVE BDP-S1 players?!?!?

Yes, Sony BDP-S1 Blu-ray players. And it shows where Daniel Craig turned one of the Blu-ray players to check some security footage.

Wow, security footage can be recorded on Blu-ray. So high-tech indeed.

Anyway, just to point it out

Did anyone notice the Sony BDP-S1 in CASINO ROYALE? The movie itself was pretty good.

I heard there wasn't a LOT of gadgets for Mr. Bond to play with in "Casino Royale", but did they give him a "blue laser"!!!

Not distracting? There were more Sony products than hot women, or hot machines. Casino Royale is a Sony commercial and a chick flick, and an hour too long. Bring back Connery, and Q.

IMHO it was a good movie. And Craig did very well. For the role of the cold blooded killer a he's more believable than Brosnan or Connery.
As for the distraction, I dunno what exactly was distracting in CR. Would it be less distracting if it was plain DVD player or HD DVD player? Or if it was some other laptop? I doubt.

The only time product placement was irritating and stupid was in Blade III with all that crap about iPod loadup b4 the fight and use of it during the fight. Yeah, who needs to hear anything when going ambushing and gunfighting, just gimme some cool tunes. Sheesh...

Yeah, bring back Connery as bond...

First James Bond on Geritol with a walker and Terminator X glasses.

The guy is ancient now, have you seen him lately? the last few years he got weathered looking.

I must've missed all that completely The only thing I can recall was 2004 nikes or something like that. Not even sure, Nike or reebok?

This is quite a funny look at I, Robot from Maddox, creator of "The Best Page in the Universe"

I enjoyed the movie nevertheless.
