USA Nitro Circus: The Movie (2012) Blu-ray 3D [Region Locked / Free] [91m cut/103m uncut]

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnjWf...ature=youtu.be

I caught this movie in the theater on Saturday, some really nice 3D shots. I describe the Nitro Circus as Jackass without the vulgarity and pumped full of steroids - or as Jeff T said in the film itself, "In Jackass the stunts are designed to fail. With Nitro Circus if you fail, well.. you die".

That could not be more true, these guys are INSANE! Back flipping building to building on a BMX bike, setting a Guinness record for the most times a car was flipped / rolled. 20 ft in the air flipping on big wheels.. These guys truly are nuts lol

The movie was filmed in 3D and feels very native and clean, really offers some spectacular angles and depth, not a whole lot of negative parallax but the film felt to me like it was done right. You can really gauge the height and speed / distance these stunts revolve around. I watched the show on TV and the experience in 3D brought it to a whole new level, we were on the edge of our seat.

I hope to see this released on Blu ray 3D, not an anaglyph version like they did for Jackass 3. Regardless once released on disc, I'll be buying a copy.

I'll check to see if it's playing in 3D in my theater. It'll be this or Expendables 2, which is only 2D. I won't have time for both, but would like to see both.

Thanks JSmith.

Looks like this will get the 3d release it deserves. Let's hope Paramount makes some good money and rethinks doing a 3d blu-ray release of Jackass 3

Next Tuesday, chaos ensues on your 3d TV.

Look forward to the review. May get this myself now since the OP's detailed explanation of the flick and the 3D has me very interested in buying it.

Watched it last night and it's definitely worth the $18 at Amazon. Or for people on a fence, Blockbuster got the 3D copy for rental for $2.99.

Lots of great shots. Loved the 1st half. 2nd half... it was basically more of the same thing so maybe I just got used to it.

There's a shot of Travis Pastrana raising thumb up toward the beginning of the movie where it's literally coming out of the screen. That's probably the best "pop out" shot throughout the movie. They tried few occasion to make a motorcycle "come out" in the air but didn't work as well.

Overall, yeah, these guys are crazy. I really thought at the end they'll have some "in memory of" and list all these guys names but I guess they're still alive... or were alive by the time blu-ray was made.

Looks like it's not Paramount. Some company I'd never heard of before, Arc Entertainment. I've never heard of a single movie of theirs on their website. Looks like they're a distributor that handles B movies and family films. Still, hope it sells well enough to generate buzz at Paramount about doing Jackass 3D the right way.

Anyway, picked this one up for about $18 at a local Walmart, and it seems to be a package I've not seen elsewhere, including a Vudu digital copy code along with the DVD, BD, and 3D BD... for those that care about such things.

That sounds cool, thanks for the mini review.

I saw the 2D version of Nitro Circus at Target, but not the 3D version there.

Target has dropped the ball for 3D IMO. Too many times have I shown up there to give them a chance on a day one 3D release, only to hear the clerk say "No, we didn't get those in yet. Probably next week check back." Sale lost. I don't think they are worried about it, at least at that one story anyway. Their electronics department is beginning to fade year by year in 3D selection and release day availability.

First impression? Results are a mixed bag on this one. Plenty of outstanding looking native content. I believe someone earlier already commented on Travis' hand coming out of the screen. Quite a few scenes like that, including bikes breaking the screen barrier.

There's also plenty of stuff that either a) hasn't been converted to 3D or b) has been converted very sloppily. For a sloppy example, check out some of the in-car camera action on the bus in the first 15 minutes. There is a pole that is going across most of the screen and you can see background image on the same depth plane as the pole - very noticeable.

Yet to watch all of it, but what I've seen so far has been pretty impressive. Keen to check out the rest of it when I get back home.

FYI - I just picked up a copy from Walmart, the 3d blu was 19.99. Pretty good deal, I agree Target doesn't really offer much for 3d, a few here or there.

Looking forward to watching this from my uber comfy couch tonight, just waiting for the kiddo to finally go to sleep

I'm pretty sure the 3D is 17.99 at BB. I passed on it when I picked up Brave. I'm just not interested but 17.99 is a good price.

It was better from my couch.

3D at home always looks so much better to me. This movie has some really great shots, but like said earlier in this thread not all of it is in 3d - in fact the money shots are pretty much it but that takes up a lot of the film. I had forgotten some of the crazy sh1t these guys did for the film, like Tommy hitting that ramp at 75mph flying 40 feet into the air, 150 feet out into a lake lol. Crazies.

Driver you were right, ARC distributed for them. Thought it was Paramount but it makes sense it wasn't being this was released the the correct manner, not crappy anaglyph.

Anyhow another flick to add to the collection, for 20 bucks its totally worth it IMO - these guys are nuts.

Does this release come with a slipcase please?

Wondering if it's worth the import. Cheers.

There is a Best Buy exclusive that is unrated and it comes with slipcover. Also, the ones at Walmart have slipcovers

Wish a bit I had read this before purchasing. Was disappointed not all of it was in 3d. With that said, some of the native 3d shots were STUNNING! Some of the best 3d I've ever seen for sure! Plus the movie was pretty funny and entertaining and the crew was pretty memorable . Was taken aback by the guy in the wheelchair though. That dude was AMAZING! So happy that that guy has found an ingenious way to make his disability an advantage xD

Overall worth a watch, but am still pretty disappointed more footage wasn't in 3d lol. Oh well, at least it was 17.99 at best buy where I bought it and that what is there in 3d looks great for the most part
