Thanks.

No one posted a thread for the film and the release day is tomorrow and this is a gem of a film. So I decided to post a thread for it as I didn't find out this was coming till fairly recently. I should check the Blu-ray.com news section more frequently.

Glad I can retire the DVD, hope the transfer is good for this one.

That looks really good! It's great you got Macy and Baldwin. My copy is on its way.

Cheers, I got lucky!

I had Maria interested too, but her NCIS schedule kept changing, which was a shame. She's vital to the film so was gutted timings couldn't line-up.

Does this have english subtitles for the main feature?
Blu-ray.com doesn't have it listed.

Update: it does.

What is the obsession with 20Mbps bitrates on these 101 releases?

It's with Lionsgate so it's up to them. This could be region A friendly, I don't have disc in hand yet to confirm. The DVDbeaver review does not mention anything about Region A compatibility so hmmm.

Does anyone know if the caps from dvdbeaver are accurate to the look of the movie, or if this is just a poor transfer? The review even poses this question. Its been a long time since I last watched this film on dvd, but I don't remember the film looking like the caps. It could just be that the films look is just a whole lot more stylized than I remember, and the blu-ray brings this out more than the dvd could have. Anyone know, or can compare to an hd stream?

I haven't watched my DVD in years, but if I can find some time I'll check it out again and compare the two.

Is it me or is there something up with the audio, it seems like its over tinny and swirling/phasing? Something really sounds off

Is this release 1080i video with 25fps audio? If so, I'm hoping this gets released in North America with it's proper format.

Well, it looks like crap:

Colorwise it had much more saturated colors and higher contrast in the theater.

Yeah, that's gonna be a no from me, dawg. Bummer, since it's an undervalued gem. Here's hope the U.S. release, if it ever happens, has a different transfer.

That is just a single screenshot taken from DVDbeaver. The rest of the screenshots look decent. I wouldn't judge the whole video transfer with that one screenshot.
