Star Wars - Jedi Knight II: Outcast & Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy coming to PS4

Two classic Star Wars games are coming back to consoles from Lucasfilm and developer Aspyr, starting September 24 with the action/adventure game Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy will follow soon after in early 2020, with Aspyr bringing back the game’s much-celebrated online multiplayer battles.

Jedi Outcast was pretty dope back in the day, I could see myself replaying that.

Now just give me Episode I Racer and Rogue Squadron I & II on modern consoles!

I never really got into these. I THINK I played one of them for the og Xbox, but I remember not loving it. Could just be that I didn’t “get it” at the time either lol.

Wish they’d bring the KotOR games to a modern console. Preferably Switch so I can have it on the go

Same. I was all about KOTOR and Battlefront 2. My friend kept telling me these Jedi Knight games were awesome. Now I can finally find out on console. Let's hope for some sweet platinums.

I saw on a Reddit post that it'll cost $9.99 on the PS Store, but I guess we'll see for ourselves soon enough. For that price I wouldn't mind buying it day 1 since I've never played it before.

Oh cool there's even a trophy for completing a level with a cheat code enabled ... which makes me think that perhaps cheat codes won't lock you out of all the other trophies, particularly Jedi Master difficulty.

Is it me or does it look like the original 4/3 aspect ratio of the game is stretched to 16/9? The HUD indicators at the bottom left and right should be perfectly round, but they look oval to me. I hope there's a setting to play at the original 4/3 aspect ratio.

Yes, you can play with the OAR. It looks like they went with a compromised Window-boxed 16:9, which works, but it isn't as immersive as the 16:9 on the PC with mods. Also, they didn't implement the visual effects that the PC version has, all of which can be handled by the PS4 hardware. Apart from that, my only gripe is no bot play and the controls need tweaking for sensitivity. Jedi Academy will have the MP feature because it's (technically) the 2.0 version of Jedi Outcast and includes all the character assets from JO in it's game files.
