Screw indian companies, Us companies are releasing in 4k, look at star wars i am getting a 10 disc uhd entire set for $250 from Best buy in US, i will get gully boy from japan and other hindi movies from Japan and Germany. Indian companies are so lazy, it is cash cow, one billion potenial customers and others abroad they can make the blue rays for a couple of dollars. Amazon and netflix have 40 m movies at most. we want to spend our money and buy blu rays but they dont want to bother. I will spend my dollars in japan and hopefully they will release other movies too. Shame on indian companies, Reliance Yash Raj.

They have stopped making audio CDs which are far cheaper than blu-rays and also despite a lot lot more Indians having audio CD players than blu-rays players. Blu-rays wouldn't stand a chance for sales in India.

![]() ![]() Actually I suspect most Indians don't have audio CD players, at least not dedicated ones (as opposed to ROM drives, which modern laptops and desktops tend to omit, or DVD players which ALSO serve as CD players, but don't have dedicated audiophile features). Portable media players and smartphones are the medium of mass consumption, and in audio you actually have an argument that the sound quality of digital download files can potentially be close enough to CD's (and sometimes better if you have access to high-res 24-bit 96/192kHz FLAC's mastered from the original recordings) for most people to not know the difference in a blind test. Nope. It's not lazy, it's strategy!
For example, in Chinese case, If a title were released putting on Chinese subtitles, only few Chinese buy some title, others could share piracy file. But if they sold copylight of theatrical film or OTT service in China, it could be profit! Anyway, most Indian companies follow that strategy. It's tragedy of Indian blu-ray user... |
