Default Had to own the Blu-ray, but now have no desire to watch it.

For example, I had that Complete Star Wars Saga - I watched the Original Trilogy deleted scenes then never watched the rest.

Ever feel like you had to own something, but when you finally got it home you never wanted to play it?

The majority of my disney animated classics...only buy them because release day are cheap and hate paying the high price when near vault time

Nope, I only buy films I know I'll want to watch. Example, the Twilight saga. I thought I had to own them because I liked them, but thinking about it more I realized since I didn't absolutely love them and think they're some of the best movies ever made I decided not to buy them.

Lord of the Rings Extended Trilogy. Bought it, tried to watch the first movie and can't get through it without falling asleep. To me, they are just way too long for multiple viewings...

I've been eager to watch every single Blu-ray that I've purchased, and I generally watch each purchase as soon as possible.

When I buy multiple Blu-rays in a short time, I will usually save the ones that I look forward to seeing the most of all, and watch them last. This ensures that nothing in my collection sits around unwatched for an extended time. I'm excited about watching everything I buy, though, so it's really not an issue in the first place and the above strategy is just a matter of determining the order when I'm watching them all in a row.

The only thing that comes to mind is the LoTR Theatrical cuts. Bought them during BF. Only reason why I got them was so that when I watch with friends, they have the option of watching the shorter cuts.

Same here. I don't waste time or money on movies I don't like. On DVD I bought the Alien Anthology but when it came to Blu-ray, I waited for the individual releases and just bought the first three. Same with Jurassic Park, I waited until the first one was released by itself and not in the box set.

not really. I have a lot that I bought that I haven't watched but with those, it is mostly because it was a good deal so I thought why not. But there hasn't been anything that I had to own that I haven't watched yet.

I have plenty of those. But ultimately, I have no regrets. I just got to be moderate and restrict myself to a few of such Blu-ray every month.

Alien Anthology - I still haven't and probably never will watch Alien: Resurrection since the last time I saw it many years ago.

I hear ya loud and clear.

This may sound overly obsessive compulsive, but I opted for the stand-alone Blu-rays of Alien and Aliens in lieu of the Anthology box set, because I dislike Alien Resurrection so much that I would have felt "unclean" if I had it in my collection.

This is also why I am hoping for an eventual stand-alone release of the original theatrical version of Superman II, because I have no desire to own the box set with Superman Returns included.

Too many of them. I keep telling myself I'm not going to be buying any more until I watch the ones I have.

I know what you're saying. I almost bought the individual releases of Alien, Aliens, and Alien 3, but when I got the the set for Christmas 2010 I decided to keep it just because of the 40+ hours of extras.

I actually just bought the Superman Anthology yesterday at Best Buy for $49.99 after seeing it for ~$100 on Amazon for months. I couldn't pass that up for the multiple cuts of the first two films and in lossless audio along with all of the supplements included.

I saw that Best Buy deal, and it really is a sweet price. I'm holding tight to my DVD of the theatrical Superman II still, but I won't say that I was not tempted.

I too passed on the Alien Anthology set when it was dirt cheap in favor of the single release of Alien. I knew I'd never slog through all of that additional material again.

Same deal with Star Trek The Original Series which I always wanted to own. It was $58.xx today, probably the cheapest it's been, but even then I still can't imagine paying $60 to have something sit on my shelf because I used to enjoy the show. (Plus it streams in HD for free on Amazon Prime)

And to think I paid $140 for that set a few years ago.

The extras alone were worth the $30 at the time. I haven't even finished the extras & probably never will. Should have just stuck with the first two movies & saved myself $20.
