Best Buy has a poll up asking their customers to vote between a 4K UHD Steelbook of Galaxy Quest or Tommy Boy. Since Best Buy has no power here, it seems safe to say both are coming from Paramount this year.

I tried watching this again on blu ray and i couldnt sit through it. I bought the steelbook remembering how much i liked the movie....

Voted for Galaxy Quest. Love this movie and glad to see it coming to 4K. I wonder when it’s coming (with or without the steelbook).

Best Buy doesn’t make announcements, but they may have slipped up. I think they know it’s coming and letting us decide which ones get a steelbook release. They have to plan months out, so I imaging closer to the end of the year for this. Hope I’m right.

Both of the titles matched up in the first vote are Paramount, and then there's a Lionsgate matchup and a Sony matchup. Drive is already confirmed by Refn as coming from Sony, even though it isn't officially announced (and both Drive and Navarone were on Sony's official consumer polls, not to mention Navarone is on digital 4K, as is Hurt Locker). All taken together, it's clear that this is information that will be sent back to the respective studios for upcoming 4K UHD releases.

Love this movie! Been hoping this would happen. Voted for this over Tommy Boy but I’ll take both.

I really only want it in 4K if it's the Director's Cut. I don't care much for the movie at this point, though I'll still watch it on Blu-Ray.

As of right now there are no alternate cuts of Galaxy Quest, and I can't recall Dean Parisot actually saying he wanted to release an alternate version (but I could be wrong on this second point).

The movie was originally intended to be PG-13, but from what I understand, Parisot has made peace with the trimming. (He talks a little about it in the recent "Never Surrender" documentary).
