I'll give it a shot. It won't make the original any worse.

So it's going to be Big O II all over again, but this time for 2 added seasons. Well it could work if it's done right but I did love how crazy the 1st season was.

I have this suspicious feeling that the sequel won't be as visually ambitious as the original, probably even less so than Panty & Stocking. FLCL basically throws every animation format at you, which is part of its appeal.

Gonna keep a look out on this as more info reveals. We do know that the sequel will not have Naoto return as the main character, stepping into the sidelines for a schoolgirl taking the protagonist status. Passing on the torch is always a tricky thing to set up, so let's see how this goes.

EDIT: Oh right, the source.

Two 6 episode seasons? im in! it will be interesting to see if they can get that level of madness that permeated the original series. and they have to get the Pillows back to do the music for the show. it just wont be the same without them.

I'd have liked to at least see studio Trigger behind the wheel for this if it had to happen. I'm not huge on the idea of continuing it this many years later (I mean I don't think anybody was asking for a sequel, it was pretty self-contained), but I'm willing to see what they do with it.

Yes, they better bring The Pillows back. I'm intrigued by these new seasons. Didn't expect there would ever be more.

Just what I love about anime, originality. Oh wait this is the opposite. Luckily I'm lactose intolerant and have no interest in milk especially from a dead cow.

Normally I would hope for someone other than the pillows...

However they've released 19 studio albums and only wrote two songs specifically for FLCL. The rest were taken from other albums. This being said, I can't imagine them going elsewhere for the music. Totally unnecessary but maybe they write one or two more songs, then the rest can come from the existing material.

It would be surprising and annoying if they don't just stick with the pillows.

I'll definitely watch this. I genuinely don't think the show will be great or abysmal. I think it'll fall somewhere between "good" and "not good", most likely just being "fine". That's my prediction anyway.

Wouldn't mind giving the sequels a shot, but I agree that the original series is fine and complete as-is, at least story-wise.

I could see the potential to elaborate more on the outer space stuff, but then again, I wouldn't want it to take away from the mystique of the original. Even though it took effort to understand, it managed to give you everything you needed to know without explaining what anything was.

And yes, the Pillows is a must. I still have the original three volumes of the soundtrack from the original show, and I consider them essential in my collection.

FLCL: plan is to have the original voice cast & Pillows back. Tsurumaki & Sadamoto (Gainax co-founder) on board. That's all the info!

No reason to not get it right. Of course they'll never match the original, but it could be a great sequel nonetheless.

I haven't even seen the show yet, and I don't like the idea of it cause I know that it's a cult classic that shouldn't be meddle with.
