Hey everyone, I apologize as I was trying to find the right place to post this.
I buy all my movies from Best Buy (yay reward points) and sometimes I buy a movie but never have a chance to watch it until far after the purchase date. In this example, I bought the Harry Potter collection in 4K on Black Friday and just finally watching it, and of course having playback issues (corruption on the 6th movie). No scratches or anything. So of course, BB won't take it back because its past the return date. Any ideas on how to get this exchanged as this isn't the first time this has happened. |

On the Oppo owners forum they talk about having people wash their UHD disc because of some coating still on them. I haven't had to try it myself but I recall coming across it, as remedial as it sounds. Might be worth a try at least IDK.

I don't know if I'd wash it as some have suggested, but that's just me. I'd rather just replace the disk itself if that were my only option despite the extra cost.
Depending on the store, BB generally stick to the return day limits. You might be able to talk to an associate at the store and see if they'd be willing to do that. Or you can try Warner Brothers and maybe they'll be willing to send a replacement disk. Those are the only suggestions I can offer. |

Here is one thread where Bob Pariseau talks about the UHD manufacturing film left on the discs. Another thread has it working for a guy with a "bad" Deadpool 4K disc as remedial as it sounds. https://www.avsforum.com/forum/149-b...hread-734.html Last edited by 4G64T; 07-28-2018 at 12:16 PM. |

Cleaning the disc worked for me with Mummy Returns. Skipping and a hard freeze before, no problems after.
I still have a lot of unopened discs myself, but if it it's a movie I've heard here has problems I'll usually put it in and just fast forward through the whole thing without watching it. If it gets to the end its probably fine. Only takes a few minutes. |
