Default Samsung MU8000 NU8000 series HDR10+ Support

There has been a lot of confusion online about if these series supports HDR10+ and this week Samsung owners can finally confirm that their TV's are HDR10+ capable. Please see below. This is A Beautiful Planet FYI released this week and one of the first HDR10+ discs released.

Thats documented on HDR10+ Current Adopter List URL. All the list does is point how little variance of displays comes from Samsung 2018 models (NU8000 and better models) and way more from Panasonic that people in the USA will never see. It also shows the lack of support from other display manufacturers. Good you can test it out now!

Yeah but this list is missing my generation TV's which is why I am bringing awareness to it. The list is incomplete.

Ahhh where did they draw the line as far as models? 2017? As my 2016 is not so lucky.

Yep. 2017 made the cut and HDR10+ is nice, VERY NICE, comparing it to HDR10 on my One S.

Is there anything on the TV that tells you you're receiving the 10+ signal?

When you press the INFO or SOURCE button on the remote it should say so. I don't think the new Samsung TVs are like LGs, they don't have a pop-up when you change formats.

No, unfortunately. Samsung has been nowhere to be found other they vaguely saying this generation supports it. It was believed through firmware but their firmware updates are again vague and nothing ever specifically mentioned HDR10+

But to answer your question more directly no. When I hit the info button it just says hdr just like it would for any hdr content

Then I don't understand how do you know you're getting HDR10+ content? Is your player telling you that you are?

So I have a Samsung UN55MU8000...the 55in variant of your Samsung so I assume this should be available on my model as well by now correct?

When did you notice this update...when that over the air TV popped up in the UI?

I have been trying to understand if I would ever get this update, but honestly just gave up until today when I got a new 4K disc that stated HDR10+ on the back of the case...

Thank you!
