As I've said on other forums that I'm on, I'm absolutely gutted as Pantera have been my #1 favourite band since '96. In fact I was just listening to them yesterday afternoon.

RIP Vinnie

Thank you for helping to create so many killer tunes and say hi to Dime for us.

Damn! Didn’t hear about this yesterday.
I’m on lunch from a QSP OSHA 30 class and this is sad.
R.I.P. to Big Vin.

My first taste of Pantera came in the very early 90's. We had a public access cable channel down in Tampa that showcased local metal musicians and the theme song for the show was Psycho Holiday. I was hooked. The music never gets old.

Just got home. Gotta crank some Pantera for the brothers.

I just wanna add that I love the way he played the drums on Becoming. Absolutely takes the song to another level.

I was very sad when I heard it this afternoon.
I then played the four HellYeah albums I have, back to back.
He left some fn great music for us and will live on through that.

Rest in peace Vinnie!

All the metal greats are dropping like flies.

Very sad. He's rocking with Dime now.

Default Very saddening

From King Diamond on his facebook page:

So sad, what a loss. Another true metalhead has left us way too soon. Vinnie and Pantera were some of the first people to welcome me with open arms when I first moved to Dallas in 1992. Had so many great times together. Here’s a photo of Vinnie dressed as me during a Hellyeah halloween show. To me, that was the coolest. I will miss you, friend. Rest In Peace. I know Dime is waiting for you.

Rest in Peace

Always had so much respect for him. One of the people I always looked up to when I myself started playing drums in 1993, and I still do. He always hit hard and played tight in the pocket. He will be missed.

Pantera was huge part of my youth. I was fortunate to see them 16x from 94-2001. With White Zombie, Sabbath, Slayer, Ozzfests etc. I believe they would have reunited if Dime wasn't killed. Sad to see half the band gone.

I heard on Octane a lil while ago that the new album was about 75% finished, including all of the drum tracks.
I'm happy that we get a last album from Vinnie.
