Play Misty for Me 4K UHD (1971)

KL Studio Classics announced this morning that Clint Eastwood's Play Misty for Me (1971) is coming to Ultra HD Blu-ray. New Dolby Vision master.

I initially thought about grabbing these Eastwood titles but I held off on most (double dipped on High Plains Drifter). Don't know if we'll get anymore but I'm happy to see this get the upgrade.

At least with Kino and all their dumb downmixes my old discs don't become useless. Can muxe in Misty's mono if I have to.

Did pretty much the same, including double dips on both HPD & PMFM, but was able to sell both relatively easy for little over cost. Really looking forward to this upgrade as well.

Did their previous Blu-ray of this use a downmix that they called the original mono?

I would think no, since they had no 5.1 to mix down from, only the mono. I'm 95 percent sure Universal won't build a surround mix this late. But Kino has had so many audio screw-ups. It's probably the same guy doing it over and over and never being talked to about it.
