VUDU App Apple TV

I’m not sure if this is the place to post this thread but hopefully it is in this forum since it concerns the Apple TV & UHD HDR movies.

Is anyone else having a problem playing movies thru the VUDU app on the Apple TV.

I tried to watch “Incredibles 2” last night through the VUDU app on the Apple TV & had serious lip sync problems. Also a couple of times when I tried to go out of the movie & back in it would have problems restarting the movie. One time it completely crashed.

I only use the VUDU app for Disney UHD movies since Apple doesn’t have those in HDR.

When that happens to me, I just do a Restart from the Apple TV menu and it usually corrects it for me.

I did a restart & it did help with the movie being able to play again but it still had the lip sync issue. Maybe because it was an ATMOS movie through VUDU it was having problems.

I’ve played TV shows through the VUDU app & it doesn’t have a problem with lip sync.

I was able to get it close by changing the lip sync on my Denon receiver to +8.

Does anyone know if VUDU is aware this is happening on UHD HDR movies with ATMOS soundtracks if this is a known issue & will be fixing it?

Hopefully Apple will get Disney onboard with UHD HDR movies soon so this will be a non-issue in the future.
