Reviews from Venice are extremely positive. Variety compares First Man to Saving Private Ryan in terms of what it did/could do to the genre. Day 1!

The first trailer got me hooked, but the sneak preview I saw before the IMAX showing of M:I Fallout was truly out of this world. Opening weekend and day one, for me.

It is sad that the planting of the flag doesn't get time as it should. Watching it that night Nixon had it pegged "it has to be the proudest moment of our lives". I had never seen my father cry before.
