Default Fahrenheit 451 - HBO 2018 - Blu-ray/DVD 19/09/18

Just noticed that HBO has just released a remake of the classic Ray Bradbury story Fahrenheit 451. Staring Michael B. Jordan & Michael Shannon.

I enjoyed the original from 1966. Just wondering if anybody has watched this and if so. How does this new remake stack up?

To be honest, the original 1966 julie christie film is a classic, the HBO remake was a disappointment(I watched it on foxtel a few months back), I won't be buying the bluray for this, I do have the film on bluray(german digibook) however.

I was hoping we would get a remasterd edition of the original with the release of this new movie, but alas it never happened

In what way? If you hadn't seen the original, would it be a good adaptation of the novel? Just two great actors in it, and HBO. Seems a shame to miss it

I've seen it and it was... hmmm.. just OK. It has interesting little touches, like a ubiquitous A.I called Yuxie (a sci-fi version of Alexa) that sees and hears everything. The movie is worth watching once, but I'm more a fan of the book by Bradbury, and his great prose. If you want to see a good, modern retelling of the story, I recommend Equilibrium (2002), starring Christian Bale, which is essentially the same story.

It's a bloody terrible remake. I'd count seconds of worthy film here.
The original is great dystopian sc-fi by a brilliant director.
This is a hollow shell and the script is shite. Acting is bad, Jordan is no lead here, and Shannon is a great actor (Groundhog Day anyone?) so on his merits I say script failure. 1/5. If that.

That's incredible. It just doesn't seem possible with that studio and these actors for it to be worthless. It doesn't make sense.!
