Default Moonwalkers (Ron Perlman)

Coming to Blu-ray from independent distributors Alchemy.

Cracking film

Quote:
Synopsis: What if Apollo 11 never actually made it? What if, in reality, Stanley Kubrick secretly shot the famous images of the moon landing in a studio, working for the US administration? This is the premise of a totally plausible conspiracy theory that takes us to swinging sixties London, where a stubborn CIA agent (Perlman) will never find Kubrick but instead is forced to team up with a lousy manager (Grint) of a seedy rock band to develop the biggest con of all time.

Moonwalkers was written by Dean Crain, Georges Bermann (Partizan Films) produced and Sylvain Goldberg, Serge de Poucques, Peter de Maegd, Tom Hameeuw and Grégoire Melin served as coproducers.

Pretty entertaining. It's basically a drug movie with a lot of nudity, some extreme violence, and quality production values. I definitely laughed more than once and I'd take something like this over any Hangover movie any day of the week. The Kubrick angle didn't hurt it either. Don't listen to the bad reviews, this won't win any Oscars but it ain't tryin to. Entertainment value: 8.7

I don't trust the word of most movie critics anyway, especially on the internet. Rotten Tomatoes means about as much to me as a festering bowl of dog snot (yes, a quote from another fun movie that critics hated).

The trailer looked fun, So, I pre-ordered the film, since it's out on Blu on Tuesday.

I was actually balancing this film and Entertainment for films to blind buy (pre-order). This one sounded very interesting but I'll be buying it at a later date.

I really didn't enjoy this. I liked the premise, loved the Kubrick nods (probably missed lots), but the dialogue was awful. Everyone just saying "What's going on?" but made 'edgy' by saying "what the ****'s going on?".

Video was very light too. No blacks except top and bottom borders.

I've never seen Grint outside Harry Potter and I'm worried I won't like it.

I'm getting at your stupid generalization:

Ah I see. No I'm not, but when I was the age of the target audience I found 'humour' to be funny and 'bad language instead of humour' to be not funny.

I grabbed the DVD of this movie from the Dollar Tree sadly not the BD though but for only a buck not bad it's a blind buy too.

Looked at the title and thought it was a Michael Jackson type of movie.

I think that was intentional, as the blacks on the beginning studio logos, in the animated opening credits, and the end credits (when it doesn't have the 'Bounce' footage playing) look properly black. The blacks in the rest of the movie has a faded look which I think was done in order to give it a 60's style.
