Default When will in-store BD movie prices come down?

I don't know why anyone would ever buy a blu-ray movie in store? Even when Circuit City and Best Buy have their "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" it's usually still cheaper to buy all three from amazon or frys. When will the retail stores become competitive?

when the consumer demand is higher and they are trying to get people to upgrade from dvd and the rival format is truly dead and six feet under.
I still doubt the price will come down a lot as you are getting more than dvd but then again if they want people to double dip they might have to.
All I know is as much as I like fox and what they are doing the price they charge is highway robbery compared to other studios.

You just have to learn how to shop for the deals. Heck, the MSRP for newer movies on low definition is still close to $30.00. So, for $5.00 more, you get the higher definition.

Example: 300's MSRP (LowDef: $29.00) (Blu - $34.99) - but if you know how to shop, you can get this title for much lower at either Amazon (all of the time), or hitting store sale circulars.

It REALLY isn't that much more expensive to get the Blu-Ray for $5.00 or so more... the higher definition is definitely worth that.

Most Blu-rays released currently are losing money because not enough people are buying it, and they sell well at $24.99 or $29.99 because people will simply pay more for high definition.

For example: 3:10 to Yuma was on sale a few bucks off on DVD but was the full $29.99 on Blu-ray opening week.

Once hd dvd is dead and buried and all the studios start producing blu I think we will slowly see prices come down.

You know, in some twisted way, I actually like that it is at its current price. In some selfish, self-conceited way, I like being the only person that I know outside these forums who is in the high-definition next-gen format. Always impressing people when they come through the house, spread the word and so on. Why, my friend came over to visit yesterday and stated, "Yo, you have mad blu-rays! Aren't these [expletive] expensive as [expletive]?"

Umm..err...no, I'm not that much of an ass...am I? Lower prices!!
