One of the greatest animated films of all time will be celebrating its 20th anniversary next month. The BD came out on its 10th anniversary. I’m really hoping for Paramount to release this on the format, especially with its well-known issues on the DVD and BD. Those were sourced from the film print, even though this was digitally made, and the BD was DNR’ed to make it look digital, which it was in the first place. Not to mention the audio becomes out of sync at a certain point. They need to make this the definitive version of the film yet and the easiest way to do so is to just use the original source.

Found this recently, and all I wanna say is we're already approaching the 25th anniversary next year, and the show has gotten a complete 4K re-render for Max's rebrand, PLUS Paramount has already done a 4K Dolby Vision rescan of Trey and Matt's other film, Team America, and is lending that master out to Shout Factory to release on Blu-ray (and likely UHD at a later date) soon. I wouldn't put it past Paramount to sneakily drop a 4K rescan of BLU on streaming then do a UHD for the 25th anniversary.
The remaster would also sadly probably have to be a rescan of the filmout, considering this wasn't part of the stuff Matt and Trey re-rendered when they went back and had the entire show re-rendered. This most likely has to do with the Hell isn't Good sequence and various hell scenes, all of which were done by a separate studio, Blur. Unless they can miraculously unearth the original files or at least a DI and upscale that, our best bet would be on a rescan of the original filmout.
