Default Alien: Blackout

BD

Quote:
20th Century Fox Trademarks ‘Alien: Blackout’ For An Upcoming Video Game

20th Century Fox registered a trademark a couple of days ago for something called Alien: Blackout.

The trademark pertains to a video game rather than any other media. That means we’ll be getting the first Alien game since 2014’s Alien Isolation came along and did the iconic xenomorph franchise serious justice after the dismal Aliens: Colonial Marines.

That game’s developer Creative Assembly is reportedly not working on a sequel, so Alien: Blackout may not be a continuation of that timeline in which Amanda Ripley heads to the space station Sevastopol and encounters the beasts that caused her mother to go missing after the events of 1979’s Alien.

Thanks for the info. Could be a cool survival game depending on the goal.

Obviously we have no idea which way they’ll go bo I’m a bit survival fatigued. I’d rather they make a kick ass FPS with the quality of Isolation.

FYI There is a new comicbook adaptation of Alien 3. It is not an adaptation of the film but ,of an earlier script.

Seconded. I actually never finished Isolation because I was so survival fatigued. Hopefully this is just a FPS action game.

I never finished it either, but for different reasons. I got scared, hid in a locker and have never emerged. Been there since '15.....

Give me a polished Colonial Marines and I'd be happy as I actually liked it

That's funny.

I felt that way when I first played Silent Hill on PS1 and Evil Within on PS4. Taking things in smaller portions makes the experience easier to handle. Same with RE7 on the PSVR, where the immersion into the horrific world is amplified by a lot.

But yeah, rather than a stealth only game, I'd like a game where you could choose stealth or guns blazing in the game.

I liked it as well and with the pc version i used a graphics mod that cleaned the graphics and game play which made it look/play a lot better.

Alien Isolation is for me the most underrated game of this generation. I will be getting this for sure.

Isolation was fantastic. Too long, but fantastic. Hopefully this is as good!

Damn it, maybe I should go back and emerge from the locker like a new born n00b and face my fears. I don’t do well with tense video games......you may have guessed

Definitely drop the difficulty down to easy, or even the newer very easy mode. I honestly thought several sections later in the game were rather unfair on the recommended hard mode.

I always wanted Alien Isolation to be redone for PSVR.

That game was pure tension. It was just like playing an Alien movie.

Looking forward to the reveal at Game Awards if rumours are true, Hideo Kojima being involved would be the icing on the cake!

It would work great in VR, no doubt about it.

Nice 4K release for regular version and lovely VR conversion. It worked a treat for Resident a Evil, why not this or a new Alien game?

Not really. That'd just mean we wouldn't see it for five years. I'd rather he finish the game he's actually directing than start a new one.

Isolation is already playable in VR on PC. A re-release would be cool. Maybe for ps5?

Underrated? I saw pretty much universal praise for it.
