Default Cheryl Tiegs attacks SI Swimsuit issue's plus-size model Ashley Graham

I felt I could not post the cover which believe me I wanted to, but I deemed it had to much cleavage in the picture.

Smaller than a 35 waist what happens when you get people like André the Giant (7 ft 4in 520 lbs) and The Big Show at (7ft 0 in 441lbs) I guess your screwed because some TV Dr. said so.

Ashley's obviously not obese. I think if she were, then I would agree with Cheryl.

As it is though, I think she went a bit over the line. OTOH, I think people have been a tad harsh in response to her. I think Ashley Graham is gorgeous and pretty sexy. But I don't think that cover picture did her many favors, having seen other pics of her. So, reactions like Tiegs' are to be expected, and I don't think she meant it with malice. It was just bad judgement, really.

Also, and we have to face this face in the United States: We have a MASSIVE problem with obesity. And while Ashley Graham certainly doesn't fall into that category, I do see lots of articles and even magazine covers that seem to have made a decision that a reactionary response is called for. And so I have seen some models who definitely border on the obese celebrated. And if Tiegs has seen a lot of these, then maybe this was just the natural reaction for her.

Still, she shouldn't have said what she said.

Underweight models ban, a British PM wants to do the same. You just can't win.

Here's the thing.

1) Obviously, there are models in certain shows and arenas who are way too thin. No one denies this.

2) The Top-5 paid models in the world last year were: Giselle (which is sort of amazing, considering she's semi-retired ), Cara Delevingne, Adriana Lima, Doutzen Kroes, and Natalia Vodianova. None of these are women I would describe as "painfully thin." OTOH, I'll grant you that they were or are all Victoria's Secret models. So, that's one thing to consider.

3) I watched a lot of New York Fashion Week recently, and I didn't see models that looked like they about to pass out or were way too thin.

4) Using BMI as a measurement process is absurd. BMI is highly controversial and doesn't really relate to health. Also, the present laws in Europe in countries that have adopted such legislation refer to <18 BMI as far too thin. The general consensus is that a 18.5 BMI is considered healthy (even if these are numbers that don't really represent much in the first place). So, I'm not sure exactly what they are looking for anyways.

5) Does the modeling industry need some fixing? Yes. Is this the way to go about it? No.

Anyways, that's what I think on the subject. And let's face it: Kate Moss' biggest health concern back when she was a Top Model wasn't her weight or BMI. It was the amount of cocaine she did every day.

EDIT: Oh, and who are the two hottest models on the planet right now? Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner. *shrug*

Kate Upton may not be a super model in the same vein as Gisele Bundchen, Cara Delevingne, Adriana Lima, Doutzen Kroes, and Natalia Vodianova. Kate Upton is gorgeous and while definitely not a plus size model by any stretch of the imagination, she is not as thin as the other models, she is more full figured.

If I had my choice of the 3 current SI swimsuit cover models, Ashley would easily be my pick. I love voluptuous women.

IMO Graham is the ideal representation, in modern times, of the term 'voluptuous.' Anyone who says she's obese or flabby needs a new dictionary. If I recall correctly, by 50's standards, Monroe was referred to as voluptuous.

Saying that, there's nothing wrong at all with any of the fit (I.E. those who clearly spend time in the gym burning fat and toning) models who may be described as lean. Large people who shame others who enjoy the fitness lifestyle need to have a word with themselves.

It is weird how beauty standards change back in Victorian England times Ashley Graham would be widely considered the ideal for beauty, because I believe that being full figured would signal that you are wealthy because that signified you had plenty of food. Then it was people who were pale because that meant you were also wealthy because you could hire help or had slaves, so you didn't work out in the sun. Now most people like toned and tanned models or actresses.

You don't even have to go back to Victorian times for changes like that. There are places in the world right now where those very ideas are true.

But we all know that Bella Thorne is the ideal of beauty.

It's a hot topic and one that should be discussed, not as a means of passing judgement on women's bodies, but in terms of attitudes to health and related issues, including us guys, too. I think it's fascinating to see how perceptions and attitudes to body image have changed in the current social media / internet age.

Michael Keaton Beatle Juice this is the only thing I could find there were no body shots of Michael Keaton that I could find where he wasn't in the suit which already had muscles as part of the Batman costume.
