Default Favourite scenes of characters singing in the car

Ya, this is something that’s been overdone and can be cheesy, but it’s still provided some great/memorable movie scenes.

Reality Bites:

Beyond just being a cute and fun scene between two friends (Winona doing the “wah wah” sound ) it also serves as a cool introduction for Ben Stiller’s character by cutting to his car with the contrasting music.

Not a movie, but the opening number of A Muppet Family Christmas.

And also the scene of the Griswolds driving in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

There’s no good quality clip on YouTube but one of my favourites is in Mystic Pizza after the 3 girls play a prank on one of their boyfriends and then sing Aretha Franklin’s “Respect” in the car afterward.

And from another Julia Roberts movie:

On the cheesy side but still adorable. At the point in the film when she’s starting to bond with the kids.

I genuinely can't think of many movies where a singing scene just happens to come on during a car journey and has a feelgood vibe to it rather than feeling a bit cringe, but White Chicks on rewatch is a cheesy watch.

Hackman sings in opening Mississippi Burning , making point of how racist the state was. Not exactly feel good.

Hahaha!

Obviously, I can't quote it here....

"Never! Never! Never, I say! For the (you-know-what) are here to stay!"

A few things:

Of what's been listed, I think Fozzie and Kermit and John Candy are my favorites.

Tom Cruise is ear-violation.

The Chinese girl in 'Rush Hour' is appropriately obnoxious. (Akin to every 'Swifty').

And finally, I can't be the only one that wants to kick the f*** outta that boy in 'Step Brothers'....
