I wasn't blown away by Another Earth, but I liked it enough to put Cahill on my watchlist. This looks like another intriguing and very different film.

There has been a good handful of small indie SF films in the last several years that have really expanded the genre. I Origins looks like another.

I went into this movie blindly (pun intended) all I knew it was a sci-fi, and I was pleasantly surprised by this.

Great movie, one of the better surprises of 2014. If you haven't seen this, I would avoid the trailer as I think it gives away a little too much. You are better off going in blind.

Funny thing about that. I watched the trailer, and I have no idea what it might have or might not have given away, not having seen the movie itself yet. I suspect that it won't be until I actually see the film before I understand the relevance of what I saw in the trailer. And at that point, it wouldn't matter.

But then, I'm not really a spoilerphobe anyway, so it really doesn't make that much difference to me.

I pre-ordered this this afternoon (totally spaced it was releasing) and now it's listed as unavailable from Amazon...

EDIT: Something is messed up with this release, I now have a January 21st 2015 estimated delivery. Did this get unceremoniously delayed?

Not me. I've seen The Congress DVD (but not the Blu) all over the place, but not I Origins.

My favourite film of the year. Was passing the cinema, saw the poster (which I thought was stunning), went in and watched it. Was amazed.

Saw the trailer later, and was so, so glad I hadn't seen the trailer first. Gives away far too much.
