For all around use but primarily from a 7.1 PS4 gaming perspective I ask this. Where should I place a pair of Di-pole speakers?
My front mains and center are set and hooked up to a Denon AVR-2500 in a unfinished basement setting. Now I have a pair of small tower floor standing speakers and a small lower power handling pair of Di-pole speakers for rear and surround channels. Should I use the Di-poles as surrounds or surround back speakers? In my situation if the Di-poles are surround back they would be mounted from the ceiling above and behind the listener by @7ft. I would then have the towers as surrounds at the sides but preferably a little behind the listener or is it really necessary for the surrounds to be at the sides adjacent to the listener? If Di-poles are used as surround speakers I'd prefer to place the towers behind and to the sides. Would that work ok? Bonus question, should I set up as 5.1 with Di-poles placed above listener serving as top middle speakers? Would top middle speakers get much information from PS4 games? Please advise me, thanks |
