Default The Third Man -Lionsgate edition

Will the new Lionsgate edition of the Third Man on Blu-ray be more expensive or cheaper than the Criterion edition?

Anyone know how much it will cost?

Undoubtedly cheaper. Criterion is always on the high end of the pricing spectrum. Whereas most Lionsgate stuff drops quite fast.

Actually, it appears to be the same price.

And it looks like the Lionsgate edition will have some extras not on the Criterion, as extensive as the Criterion extras were.

The other studio canal releases that occurred in the spring are still quite high.

I don't really think it could be. It'll be just the same, or not quite as good, I should think.

Regular Lionsgate, yes. The StudioCanal Collection, no.

Frankly I don't see how you could've thought for one second that this was a good idea.

I can't either, but I was fairly new in the whole BD community and I did not know a lot about Criterion or their value.. Sold it for ~$35 Totally my fault but I just thought this would be a re-release.. Today I would've never done it.. Even if the Lionsgate edition was the exact same I'm sure the Criterion would still explode in value just because its Criterion.. Oh well you live you learn..

Just the other day I picked up Transformers: The Movie for $8 and it goes for a good amount on eBay.. Could've been me a few years ago

There's already a thread for this title: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=146796

If you use Google, you'd find this picture:

However, as AkumaSG noted, later runs have been packaged in standard plastic cases.

I'm 99.9% sure that the picture you posted is from the StudioCanal from a different country.

I believe that all of the North American releases came in standard plastic cases with a Slipbox, while all of the other countries got a DigiBook treatment.
