Some say Fox Searchlight expanded too quickly, but I'm not sure if waiting longer would have done any favors. It's a solid little movie that really isn't noteworthy outside of Emma Stone's performance. Fox Searchlight has more important movies to focus on this fall.

The only Fox Searchlight releases that have gone UHD are Wild and The Birth of a Nation. Brooklyn was rumored, but probably dropped when it seemed unlikely to win Best Picture at the Oscars last year. I suspect that the only one from this year will be The Shape of Water (virtually certain, unless it bombs), but I'm hoping for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, which would need some serious awards buzz to make it.
This film looked okay, but it's not going to set any awards shows on fire, and the smaller box office take means it will more than likely get a Blu-ray only. |

For those disappointed that this is not being carried in-store at Best Buy, I'm happy to confirm that it is being carried in-store by both Target and Walmart for $19.99. The copies at my stores also had their slipcovers, and were not in coffins.

Just watched it using a $0.99 Google Play rental. Well acted. Though I never grew to hate Riggs. And I didn5 start rooting for a king until the final match. I wish it would’ve made me care earlier but a lot was spent on how the women’s side of tennis became more equal to the men. And from what I gather a lot was left out. However, when King won I wanted to cheer. Seeing the faces of all the men rooting for Riggs made me happy he lost. I think the acting was good but it wasn’t written as well as I would’ve hoped. However, it’s currently $9.99 on Vudu and that’s totally the price this should be. Worth owning. Not worth over that. I did walk away amazed at how much of a trailblazer King was. Had no clue she began the WTA. But also can’t believe a cigarette company still is the main sponsor. That has to change!

Saw this twice in theaters and just now watched the blu-ray. Anyone else notice some faint digital pops at the start of the final match? In the theater this moment had quite a lot in the LFE and both viewings were flawless (also my speakers/headphones are perfectly fine) so I'm not sure if this is a blu-ray issue or not.
