Very nice looking release! Glad to see it will be easily available in the US!

I called this a few years ago, if a high end steelbook boutique label could open up shop in the US they would make bank! Especially if they specialized in catalog titles. Scream Facotry and Arrow are in which is a great sign. I'm just amazed a specialized label has happened yet. Seems like most areas of the world have, at least, one. Are studios more difficult to deal with in the US, versus their international branches?

^^^ Probably because steelbooks are still a niche market. Yes they sell but only to collectors. I'm sure the don't want to mass produce them and not be able to sell them even though we have a much larger population versus European countries. The common person probably just wants the BD and most likely don't care about special packaging.

I would say that Europe since their populations are much bigger they probably make smaller batches and can sell out much easier.

Kind of a weak cover design imo.

...surely they can come up with something better than that.

All restored, but still not the director's cut? Super disappointing. I may still get it though. I only have the Anchor Bay tin.

Is there even a director's cut? Pretty sure the version released is the version Barker wanted out there.

Who said anything about mass producing? Low print run is a huge part of of making something collectible.
My guess is US studio are probably much more a pain in the ass to deal with than their foreign branches. Has to be something along those lines, because a high end boutique shop would be instant gold in the states.
Also with importing at an all time high, regional population counts really do not mean much.

Mondo don't do steelbooks as such they licence mondo artwork to film distributors to use

The Mondo X steelbooks have been from various film distributors and some been retailer exclusives or trade wide
Mondo provides the artwork but the Blu-ray and the steelbooks themselves is from film distributors not Mondo

Arrow Video are the film distributor for this Blu-ray release and is official mondo artwork that is been used and is also the same artwork that is been used with the Mondo/Death Waltz release of Hellrasier 30th anniversary soundtrack on Vinyl

Hellrasier is not part of the Mondo X range of steelbooks but is mondo artwork that is been used on the steelbook

Same disc from the Scarlet Box Collection? If so, I'll pass.

I know i'm in the minority here but Arrow finally releases Hellraiser as an individual disc and it just has to be a steelbook so they can command $40 for it.

I just want the remastered movie by itself and cheap. I guess that's too much to ask.

Blu-ray is a new disc pressing and is Region Free in the UK
So it's likely the same for the USA steelbook release and be also a new disc pressing and region free

Previous UK Blu-ray was Region B locked and USA Blu-ray was Region A locked

Arrow have said it's possible there will also be new artwork on the Blu-ray disc itself but that's to be confirmed as in possible mondo artwork on the Blu-ray Disc

Blu-ray Disc content will be the same as previous Arrow Video Blu-ray release

Amazon Price will drop before release date

UK Steelbook release is Region Free so when that come back in stock with Zavvi you could order that one to save some money if Amazon price works out more expensive

At $40 this a is tough sell for me considering the more recent release of the scarlet box set (which is still widely available). I suppose this is for someone who just wants the first film and the supplements it contains. Even then you'd still probably have to be a steelbook fan. This is as mentioned before certainly a niche product. I do dig the art.

The pre-order for this on amazon is like $27.38
Where is everyone getting $40 from?
