Default Movies Disappeared, then Downgraded

So I just noticed that certain digital copies I had were gone from my library. The Dark Knight, Inception, a couple of the early Marvel movies, etc. - all stuff that was upgraded to HD by way of an automatic second copy added into my account, I think around the time Movies Anywhere launched.

For awhile there were two entries in my library for all of these, so I hid the SD one and went on with my business.

Until today, when I realized those HD copies were gone. So I had to go in and unhide the old ones, and they're all SD. The Marvel movies even have the original "poster" cover art, still.

Anyone else experiencing this?

From my understanding there was a glitch during the MA launch which gave HD versions of SD purchases which has since been rectified so everyone’s now got what they’re meant to have.

Welcome to digital “collecting.” Now you are expected to cough up more hard earned cash for HD versions. Nothing is gratis in this world.

No such thing as a free lunch, the "free" upgrades to HD were a mistake during the botched Movies Anywhere roll-out.

Yes, the free upgrade algorithm from DMA wasn't removed when MA launched. So, any SD redemptions were upgraded to HD. MA came out that they were going to honor those upgrades, but only for the ones that were added prior a certain date. I think date was the launch day of MA or a week after its launch. Will need to double check. So, anything after that date would not be given the free upgrade.

All of these were day-of-release Blu-Ray purchases back in the day. Nothing else that was upgraded reverted. Not sure this is my issue, to be honest.

Thor and Captain America we’re upgraded years ago by DMA. Other Marvel movies from the same time are fine. Why these, why now?

Not sure if this is the right thread but some of my itunes movies were downgraded to from hd to sd. I believe the movies that were downgraded were ones I originally redeemed on itunes. They still show up as HD on all my other services. Is there any way I can get these back to HD on itunes?
