Last Full Measure (Gettysburg Sequel) ???? - Blu-ray Forum

I just watched Gettysburg for the umpteen time and was wondering if anyone had any news on The Last Full Measure - the prospective final film in the trilogy. The film project has been rumored many times through the years, but nothing definitive.

So . . . anyone know if this is in the works or even under consideration?

I'd love to see this get made as well, but I think the time has passed. 16 years since Gods & Generals?

I thought they pretty much cancelled all plans for it after Gods & Generals didn't do what they wanted it to...unless I'm remembering that incorrectly. It's probably too late now though, but I wish they did make it; I literally wore out the tape of Gettysburg as a kid.

Jeff Shaara has implied he wouldn't let them renew the option because of the overwhelmingly negative reception from his readers to Gods and Generals, and the film was such a box-office and critical disaster (it's said to have cost much more than the $56m they admitted to) it's hard to see anyone funding it after Ted Turner walked away from movie production entirely because of the film's terrible reception.
