![]() ![]() You Only Live Once Blu-ray another release of this fantastic Fritz Lang film--this time in Spain. the earlier Italian release appeared to many people to have a picture distortion issue, and thus it has largely been avoided. anyone know if this bd has the same issue or if hopefully that issue is not present? No he leído nada en foros españoles sobre este BD, pero la productora Producciones JRB (la fabricante del Blu ray en España) en esos mismos foros está mal conceputada, como que edita material con imperfecciones, desfasajes en el subtitulado etc.

On the amazon reviews Javier Alonzo says:
"Presented in a good b/w, the image is sharp and detailed, tho it has several impurities and white spots." "Due to bad Blu-ray authoring, sound defaults to English and with the subtitles active" (I'm not clear if he means you can't take the subs out, or it is just that Spanish isn't the automatic default) |

My copy of this Spanish Blu-ray of You Only Live Once arrived in the mail today, and I just finished watching it on my Region A player.
I am new to the movie, and I have no previous viewing experiences with which to compare this Blu-ray, but the image looks good, and it seems comparable to the DVDBeaver findings with the Italian Blu-ray. I have no complaints about the picture quality, and, albeit with a few white specks, the movie looks beautifully detailed. The menu defaults to English audio with English subtitles, but one can switch to Spanish with no trouble. This is a great little proto-noir film, and it was another home run for Fritz Lang. Highly recommended, because I'm not sure if a better transfer will ever come down the pipes. |
