One of the best shows I’ve seen in the last several years. I might order the book with it.

I thought this was excellent. By far my favourite of all recent Stephen King adaptations.

Be aware the pacing is slow as it incorporates elements of a mystery and procedural in a horror format.

There will evidently be a season two from what I heard. Wonder if they will adapt and expand on the forthcoming short story in the same world.

I felt it could have been condensed to six episodes.

I don't have HBO, but I have read the book.

For those that did watch this series and have also read the book, did they "solve the case/mystery" or did the series just leave off in the middle of the book somewhere??

Asking, because I'd rather wait and pick this up as the "Complete Series/Book" as opposed to one season at a time. As well, I'd like to have it on 4K. It doesn't appear available on 4K yet, so maybe if this isn't the 'Complete Book", maybe they do 4K in the "Complete Series" box set??...

The series covers the events of the book.

Mystery was pretty much solved.

Excellent show! Slow burn but incredibly creepy or terrifying, depending on the episode. Acting is excellent all around. Personal favorite characters, Holly, Jeannie, Glory, Yunnis and Jack.

I especially loved episodes 4 & 5, scary stuff!

Yes, like most HBO series not released by Warner Archive. The artwork is not final.

That’s probably just a placeholder date, while they await word from the distributor.

Just finished this the other day on HBO, and had no idea this was envisioned as a continuing, multi-year series -- thought this was just a "one-and-done" limited event-series, based on the storyline in King's novel (similar to the upcoming CBS All Access adaptation of The Stand). But would definintely be down for more of this. Fantastic stuff.

Wait, I’m confused. Why isn’t this distributed by HBO? Don’t they have their own home video label?

HBO’s label was fully folded into WBHE late last year

That’s stupid. I’d rather have them separate.

It makes sense to merge the two and it could have been really good if that meant HBO shows got fast releases and almost everything was released on Blu-Ray (like Warner shows are). But it's been the complete opposite. Releases for HBO shows have been really slow and heaps of shows have been dropped from Blu-Ray. They don't even get Warner Archive releases...

It seems like HBO shows under Warner Home Video have had the bare minimum put into them and not really cared about at all. It was a lot better when HBO had it's own home video company and was completley seperate from the rest of Warner (now that HBO proper has been moved from it's own seperate entity to under WarnerMedia Entertainment with TNT, TBS, TruTV, Cartoon Network and Adult Swim).
