..............I'm sorry but I thought this was terrible.
I couldn't even get through the first season, the attempt at characterization were terrible (especially in terms of making Velma an abusive POS to Shaggy). Stick with Zombie Island guys. This ain't it. |

This is considered the best Scooby Doo cartoon by almost all Scooby Fans. I thought it was fantastic It's more Adult and darker than the previous shows. Also it treats the IP with respect unlike that new Velma show

I try and watch the original classic episodes when possible. Might try this but not sure. If it treats the IP properly then thats a good thing. Unlike that Velma vomit. ![]() |

****ing christ... I guess we can lump Scooby-Doo "fans" in there with the Star Wars bunch crying about how a new entry has ruined their childhood because *gasp*, they did something different with it. What a bunch of whiners.

Yes, the attempts at characterisation, or rather the relationship drama in particular, is a bit clumsy. This is the problem with trying to make something that was originally intended for children more 'adult', the characters aren't really meant to take that kind of emotional weight. But I wouldn't go as far as to say it was anywhere near as bad as Velma. Unlike that show, the characters still mostly feel like the characters and not like they're just cynically using the IP for brand recognition. The animation is pretty good. Not as good as the four Japanese animated Scooby Doo DTVs, but pretty good. The level of humour is just right and I really enjoyed the continuing plot and the references to Lovecraft (they even got Jeffrey Combs to play him), Harlan Ellison (played by himself) and Twin Peaks (they even got The Man from Another Place to reprise his role. David Lynch couldn't even get that, largely because Michael J Anderson is pissed at Lynch) And that ending, wooo. What a mind**** |

I disagree on the characters still feeling like them. Fred is an absolute trap-obsessed idiot, Daphne is too dotish and obsessed with Fred, Shaggy/Scooby feel weird, and Velma............like who thought making her a snarky jackass with the personality of Amber Heard was a good idea? I do appreciate the references in it (like War Of The Gargantuas), but I just feel like it's another example of WB completely missing the point of Scooby. |

Maybe it's the voice actors lending them legitimacy but the characters still felt mostly like the characters to me, despite the minor differences. Another key difference from that other version is the characters genuinely seem to love each other. They might break up for whatever reason but eventually friendship prevails and they find a way to work together despite their differences. This is key to the whole group dynamic and I think it's something the show understands really well |

Will Forte was the one that voiced Shaggy in Scoob!, correct? If so thought he was the weakest thing about that movie.
Scrappy as the villain in the movie was great. I enjoyed Freddie's obsession with Traps in Mystery Inc. was great, best thing they have done with Fred since A Pup Named Scooby Doo. |
