For some reason this is £70 on Zavvi, opposed to £50 on Amz.

I wonder what happened to 'The Burglar' and I wonder if that will be on the next set if there is a next set ?

This looks like a really good collection. I'm afraid I found Columbia Noir #3 a disappointment. None of the films really grabbed me and even worse, three of them starred Lee J Cobb and Broderick Crawford - two actors that for some reason I can't stand!

By contrast I could watch Lee J Cobb until the cows come home...

We’re expecting KNOCK ON ANY DOOR still aren’t we? Would have thought there would be at least one more set, but hopefully more!

I don't think they ever suggested it was going to be on the fourth set. I think just a lot of us expected it to be. They probably have to save 2-3 upper-tier Columbia noirs per set—in the case of #3, it's Pushover and The Brothers Rico.

My guess is the next one will have The Burglar and perhaps Bad For Each Other (starring Charlton Heston).

I am being on a lot of my UK titles because of the increased shipping rates due to the pandemic, Indicator being no exception, so I hope to get all of the noir sets whenever they have another sale.

I've read conflicting comments elsewhere but as far as I'm aware nobody has definitively ruled out more sets. I hope there is at least one more.

No it was never announced or hinted but I was following the titles that were in the Sony DVD sets and they've managed to get out all the ones that others didn't licence from those sets and The Burglar is the only one that hasn't made an appearance on Blu yet.

I was hoping to gift the DVDs to a friend to save space.

The initial newsletter included Nicholas Ray as being included within the series. The only 3 noirs (I think) would be KNOCK ON ANY DOOR, IN A LONELY PLACE, and PARTY GIRL. Criterion released LONELY so we can probably rule that one out. Of the other two, KNOCK is a Sony title with an extant French release, the other is MGM with no other release.

If it’s KNOCK, it’s also Bogart. A final “Bogart” volume would be nice.....

On the Facebook page of Indicator, Michael Brooke stated the following:

There will certainly be more noir boxes, but it would be pointless giving a definitive number now as plans are always subject to change.
So I’d say more sets are definitely coming.

Knock on any Door would seem possible for the reasons you have stated IE that IALP has a Criterion release and Party Girl is MGM and therefore out of bounds AFAIK.

He also said before that on facebook something akin to the fact that we would get a fourth volume however nothing could be confirmed beyond that. Though this is subject to change.

The website states on the product information for the 4th set, the word 'Ongoing' in relation to the sets.

So my optimism remains intact for now

His full quote was:

The reference that there were only four sets planned referred to the Hammer series, not the Noir series.

It was a different and earlier comment from the 18th May which I of course cannot find on the FB page now but it did refer specifically to there being a Volume 4 and that they hadn't licensed enough CFNs for another set but that this was subject to change. I know I didn't imagine it because I noted it in the thread for Columbia Noir #3.

Any chance that Indicator will have a bundle deal on all four volumes? If so, any guess on the discount?

Given that their sales are in November, and November is 'Noirvember', the time they would most likely randomly put them on sale, I don't suspect they will have a specific bundle discount. But the first three sets should be included in the sale. I haven't bought any £49.99 box sets during the sale, but I imagine they'll be priced at £32.99 or thereabouts, as the £42.99 box sets are usually £27.99.
