In 1930s Berlin, homosexual Max (Clive Owen) sleeps with German officer Wolf (Nikolaj Waldau), only to see him killed by his fellow Nazis the next morning. Fleeing with his boyfriend, Rudy (Brian Webber), Max is eventually caught and forced to beat his partner to death on a train to prove they have no connection. He's then sent to Dachau concentration camp and meets Horst (Lothaire Bluteau), a proud gay man also bound for the camp. Despite their harsh surroundings, the two fall in love.

Coolness. I would've though we'd get Gods and Monsters before this one, but more Ian McKellan is always great. And Mick!

Very well-acted, but relentlessly depressing. Worth seeing, but once was enough for me.

I'm waiting to see if it's any better than the UK release. It's not a movie I'll revisit too often, so it'll have to be a huge improvement.

Definitely worth owning, though I agree with the sentiment that it's a difficult film to watch more than once. Will be adding it to the collection.

First movie I saw with Clive Owen, thought how good of an actor he was in this dreadfully sad and depressing movie and been waiting for it on blu ray.
A day one buy for the collection.

Film Movement discs aren't bd-r are they? I'd like to upgrade my DVD if not.

To date all of Film Movements disc's Blu Ray & DVD have been pressed. And very good presentations at that.
