I can't say if I'm in the majority of minority for saying this, but the Sony X700 is a good player. There's a thread about it.
I'm very pleased with this player, but maybe it's because I don't have a 4k dolby vision screen so I can't tell if it is performing well under those circumstances. So far I've played over 70 blurays and UHD discs and no problem whatsoever the 3D, which I do have on a 100" projection screen, is great. Maybe even better than when I was using a PC with PowerDVD. If you have Netflix or want to watch Youtube you can do that too. It accepts a USB drive and it works with my NAS just fine. There are others however that do have problems with it. So go to the other thread and read through all the 59 pages ![]() |

I got the LG UP875 intially but returned it cause it was a noisy player and i could not ignore the sounds it was making. After i returned that i got the Sony UBP-X800 & after a few months now i love it; excellent player. Mine is Region Free so it's a bit above the $300 range but the standard version of that player is now available everywhere for $200.
