Default BLU-RAY won a GIANT victory in northern europe

(english is not my main launguage so sorry if I have mis-spelled some words)

Article published in "High def. world nr. 02 - 2007" (released nov 2007)

To summon up the article Business Director Pierre Sjoberg at the distributer Bonver says:

"We have chosen Blu-ray as the sole media to represent High Def media in Sweden and Norway (about 17 mill people) - we will rollout blu-ray in all our 2500 stores"

"I am convinsed that blu-ray will be big within renting and movie buyers . Once you've seen and heard blu-ray . then you're trapped" he states

VERY good news I believe, it's good to be blu
Best regards

In short - blu-ray has 87% of the market in Sweden - and now 1500 stores will carry blu only ( + 1000 in norway)

I think retailers have always decided. Consumers only buy what they can out of their limited scope of products available to them. A majority of people don't know how to shop for technology and will eat up whatever their local B&M store tells them.

In addition to this I can report on another nordic country, Denmark (where I'm from), thing have always been hugely in favor of Blu-ray. FONA which is one of the major electrinics retailers have only carried Blu-ray (though funny enough I have seen some 5-10 HD DVD's in some stores, but then they always had like 30 different Blu-ray titles) and more importantly Blockbuster being the major video rent store have always only carried blu-ray as well though we already knew this from the rest of the world. Several danish online webshops also have a Blu/HD meter that shows the sales percentages and those have always been around 75/25.

Indeed we have always been blu like much of Europe.
