Actually it is $34.95, but even still, why so much? Gotta add shipping, too. I really want this one (it even has the isolated music score!) but god I wish it was but $10 cheaper. And it's limited so I'm pretty frustrated. I wonder how fast it will sell?

Yes, same here, BUT, will that happen ? Leave it to Sony to screw us. Guess the Ray Harryhausen Collection was making enough money for them, so they sold the blu-ray rights to these people. Really, really wanted this one, but at this price, oh hell no !

Kinda bummed that there's no commentary like all the other Columbia Harryhausens have. Oh well. I believe Twilight Time said they couldn't produce any special features for the movies they distribute.

I hate to do it, but I'm just going to wait for a hopeful Sony release like with Jason and the Argonauts. If the Twilight version was $25 or less I might bite, but never at $40.

The word is that Sony's previous Harryhausen releases sold relatively poorly, which is why TT licensed the rights. Without TT, this probably would have never seen the light of day on Blu.

This might be the wave of the future for the more obscure catalog titles from the big studios - licensed out, low edition sizes, and higher prices. I don't like it, but the alternative is not releasing them on Blu at all.

Yeah it makes sense. I just wish that Sony hadn't told them that they couldn't produce any new extras. It means a lot of their releases will include a trailer at most.

If that's the case I'll wait to buy a used on eBay or somewhere else for less. I wouldn't even pay $40 for a steelbook.
