Platoon

Then Amadeus and Rain Man. Everything else is meh.

I see now why I never watch the Oscars. There are only about 2-3 movies per decade that I like that actually win. They usually award it to some obscure piece of crap.

I really liked Rain Man. Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman gave amazing performances and it is a movie that is very re-watchable.

Voted Platoon, but Hoffman in Rain Man is one of my most favorite performances of all time.

Chariots of Fire, Gandhi, and The Last Emperor are certainly deserving films.

Unfortunately, since I was born in the 80's I haven't seen all of these.

Probably first choice would be Rain Man. Dustin Hoffman put in another superb performance.

I had to go with Amadeus. Tom Hulce and F. Murray Abraham do a fantastic job, imo

Chariots of Fire. Makes you want to root for the Brits.

I've seen them all except Chariots of Fire. Some great movies on this list. In the end I picked Gandhi over Platoon or Amadeus. Why? Because I had to pick something in the spirit of this thread. I could easily alternate any of those 3 into the number 1 spot.
