Default Projectors - Starting Direction

Hey guys, I've been looking up recommendations all over google for projectors, but I trust this community a lot more than review sites so thought I'd at least ask.

Me and some friends got a new big house that makes for a great bachelor's pad (lol) with a massive living room. Being the film fan one of them asked me to find out a projector we could install in the living room.

We're going to do the room blackout-style. The wall is massive as it's a old fashioned raised wooden ceiling (church style?) so not worried about space for the screen or ceiling mounting. However we do want it to support 4K, but looking to get one under the 1500$ USD mark. (Gotta leave some budget to at least start with 5.1 Dolby setup with plans on eventual 9.2 lol... cause overkill)
