I saw the trailer and it reminded me of The African Queen.
Is it similar somehow?

This Movie is Great! One of My all time faves! Mitchum and Kerr have great chemistry and were dear friends in real life. I'm so pumped to buy it.

It is actually quite similar in terms or character relationships and the overall intensity. somehow there is not enough romance in this one as I would have hoped for

However It is still a great film and I will be getting this one for sure

This fits into the fairly popular sub-genre from the 1950s of nuns or priests in a potential relationship with a lay person, if only their vows weren't in the way. Hollywood couldn't resist the tragic love angle and religious audiences ate it up. The story would be much different if made for modern audiences.

I'm very glad this movie is coming out on Blu-ray, I had actually bought the DVD last year since I didn't think the film would make it out in Hi-Def.

Sea Wife is another similar movie, though I think it's inferior.

Sea Wife is rubbish and there are so many other films that are far more worthy of a BD release. Fox has been pretty slow on their classics this year.

What about the audio? I saw on TT's FB page that it would be DTS-HD MA 2.0.
Wasn't this a 4-track stereo release? The DVD was just mono with a fake stereo track as well.
If the 2.0 on the BD isn't a true stereo mixdown, no sale for me.

I would agree there isn't a huge difference between the DVD and Blu-ray. I guess a new transfer hadn't been struck since the time of that DVD release.
