Both great films. Must throw in Unforgiven too!

3:10 to Yuma for me. It is both a great film and an exceptional disc. I also recommend The Good, the Bad and the Ugly for the quality of the film though the transfer does have quite a bit of DNR on it. A shame as it's the best film of the Dollars trilogy but has been needlessly smoothed over.

For a somewhat lesser known recent film I highly recommend Seraphim Falls. I've mentioned it a bunch of times before, but I find the film to be incredible. Fantastic performances from all involved (personally I think it's Pierce Brosnan's best performance to date), stunning cinematography and an overall accessible feel to it. It's not your typical western.

Despite how good Unforgiven and Tombstone are, my favorite western is the Quick and the Dead. And I know this isn't quite a western but another 1 of my favourite movies is Last Man Standing, that and Desperado. I still remember seeing Last Man Standing at the cinemas when I was 14 or 15 years old, and how it become 1 of my favourite movies the instant Bruce Willis shot Doyles hired goon out the door (about 5 minutes into the film) for smashing his car.

^ Agreed on The Quick and the Dead. Definitely not your typical western, but it's a Sam Raimi western and you know that means it's 100%

The Trinity series needs to find its way to Blu-Ray.

Once Upon a Time in The West, hands down.

I also though Tombstone and The Assassination of Jesse James were great too. As were The Proposition, The Searchers and 3:10 To Yuma.

Still have plenty to watch on BD....
