Default Vampyr - Dontnod Entertainment's next game

Focus Home Interactive has announced that Vampyr, the upcoming gothic horror adventure from Dontnod Entertainment, will be showcased at E3 2016 next month.

The Life is Strange developer is due to showcase the game alongside other major titles under the Focus Home umbrella, such as Farming Simulator 2017, The Technomancer, The Surge and Styx: Shards of Darkness.

Prior to the release of Life is Strange, Dontnod also worked on the action-adventure title Remember Me.

Vampyr brings gothic, blood-sucking adventure to PS4 next year

This story-driven Action-RPG is developed by Dontnod, the creators of Life is Strange. Investigate the mystery of the Spanish Flu in 1918 London as a doctor and newly awakened vampire, forced to choose which citizens you must feed on to survive and improve your vampiric powers and combat skills. Every single citizen has a unique role in London's ecosystem and each death will have dire consequences. Bound by your Hippocratic Oath will you choose power or principle?

Vampyr is due out on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One in 2017.

Sounds Very interesting. I like how choosing who you kill and drink off of affects the world.

Sounds like a potential open city map. I'm interested as it's an Action RPG. Thanks.

I hope it's more open like Witcher 3 for example, instead of Life is Strange, which from what I played anyway, was very linear and with limited level design.

Remember Me was linear, too. Decent and underappreciated, albeit underdeveloped game, I think it was.

I'll have to consider checking that one out soon. I like the graphics and the gameplay from what I've seen.

Off topic, but Here's gamespot's take on it.

TBH, while it sounds interesting, and I fathom it can make for compelling gameplay, I also find it an awkward concept, at least in the context they seem to be placing it. A physician facing the ethical dilemma of whose blood to suck. It's not much of a dilemma. The end of TLoU I found absurd, so this rather takes the cake.

Interesting if each attack has a big impact on the ecosystem/story of the game if that's the case. Hopefully there are hundreds of citizens in London instead of a tight, compact little town of 50 or so.

I hope they offer more at E3 2016.

Here's a behind the scenes making of footage video of the game at a conference. Sounds like the developers at discussing the rules of the game. Sounds good.

I just hope the promise of a "Dynamic" system of affecting the local population isn't just a superficial mechanic without any real impact. I hope it genuinely changes the story. Life is Strange for example did have some choice that appeared to matter but felt ultimately in the end, it didn't massively affect the ending. Hopefully here it's much more impactful making such choices.

It could effect the world kinda like it did in Dishonored which I wouldn't mind since I love that series. That aside, I agree about being a little worried about it being superficial. Both The Walking Dead and Life Is Strange tricked gamers into believing their choices mattered and in the end they didn't. That's the reason why I didnt finish either of them. Maybe it's just me, but it just seems kinda of lazy. 😒
