Hopefully John won't mind me sharing this, but it's not Powerhouse releasing LOCAL HERO. I think John thinks it's Four themselves releasing it.

Whilst it's a shame it won't be getting the Indicator treatment, whoever DOES have it is at least putting the effort in, what with a new audio commentary track and who knows what else....

Been a while since we've had a catalogue Blu-ray release from Film4, but I guess Local Hero would be worth it. Still a chance BFI got it though, as they've handled Film4 titles in the recent past, and they obviously did Forsyth's That Sinking Feeling for Flipside.

It's a fair question - we don't actually know for sure, but like Fnord, I'd be surprised if it weren't, and like Rapta I think it will either be Film4 or the BFI.

I own the Film4 "Digitally Remastered" DVD from 2008 as well as the R1 DVD from 1999.

The Film4 remastered version has a uniform layer of DNR added to the entire film and it's much softer (already a fairly soft looking film) than the R1 DVD. Hopefully they don't just throw that version on a BD.

Unlikely, unless it's a completely lazy release. The fact they're creating new extras suggests there's effort going in. The HD master on AIV looks very nice. I would imagine they'll be using that.
