"The latest Ultraman series will adapt the manga by Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shiguchi, which is a sequel to the classic Ultraman live-action TV show. It features Shinjiro Hayata, the son of Shin Hayata (the original Ultraman) and takes place several decades after Shin defeated his enemies and saved the world from alien invaders. When a new alien threat emerges, Shinjiro will discover that he inherited his father’s powers and responsibilities as he takes up the Ultraman mantle in defense of the Earth."

Anyone watch this? I've liked Ultraman as a design and a world. YET.. never watched his stuff cuz it looked too hokey for me even taking his older stuff into context. I roughly understand the world of Ultraman. But am pretty much a blank slate to the property for hte most part.

Seeing the first 2 episodes? I liked them a good bit. Am pretty invested in seeing the develop of the main character. Who actually isn't too generic of an Anime son taking his new role. So that is neat.
