One of my film bibles is Danny Peary's wonderful reference book "Guide for the Film Fanatic".
His definition of a film fanatic is: - One of your life goals is to see every “interesting” film ever made - Your definition of an “interesting film” is wide enough to include movies of every genre and time-period - You don’t shy away from watching a film just because it got “two stars” by most movie critics - You keep lists of all the movies you’ve seen, and those you have yet to see - You spend far too many of your waking hours watching movies! By that definition, I am a film fanatic but I wanted to see who else may fit the bill. For the purposes of this thread, I will limit the qualifications to the first 2 points. Every genre and time-period means you will watch films from the silent era up to the present and every genre includes foreign films & exploitation. |
