I got the blu-ray set in today and watched the first disc tonight. Really well-done documentary, especially for someone like myself who grew up after this time period. Peels back a lot of the mystique around the "space race".

The picture quality is excellent also, really astounding seeing so much footage from the time in this quality. Highly recommended.

Many moving moments and some nice interviews overlayed from Frank Boreman for example. Very moving to see Ralph David Abernathy praying for the astronauts.

I watched it via PBS' website and thought it was great. Probably the most thorough look at the space program with regards to covering the political and social aspects of it. I loved the candid anecdotes from the astronauts interviews, especially Borman. I teared up a few times when they showed the launch and final landing on the moon. You could really sense the connectedness of much of the world when we as a species accomplished this.

This is definitely one to add to anyone's space collection, along with Apollo 11, and feature films like The Right Stuff, and First Man.

Is it just me or does anyone else notice something strange with the frame-rate of the video? It almost feels like there is motion smoothing on. I am watching the series recording on my TiVo.
