I'm thinking the UHD might not be Dolby Vision, but this is an interesting featurette regarding the color grading and the Atmos mix, shame Focus/Universal (US) weren't on board for this release in 4K.

I think I was right, and it's just Get Out / Split all over again, where the US Blu-rays come out first, but the US UHD discs come out in tandem with the international release.

Hopefully, Phantom Thread is next.

Phantom Thread is already up for pre-order in the UK on 4K.

Yay! The colorist mentioned how the HDR version wasn't some mega enhancement but more of a refinement of what was intended but even so, it'll make for an interesting comparison. VERY glad I managed to stop myself from getting the Blu.

I was disappointed by the detail of this movie when I saw it on the cinema screen. It surely must have been a 2K presentation, and just multi-speakers, not ATMOS.

Can't wait for a 4K UHD disc, what a companion to Dunkirk, and The King's Speech. The BD review by ML gave high praise to this disc, here's hoping the uptick for the UHD is icing on on the PQ cake. Don't need or expect any of the so called pop or wow factor for this movie...

honestly I was very surprised at the Middleburg Film Festival presentation of this last October, while it wasn't presented in Atmos, the picture quality from the DLP projector was outstanding. Dark inky black levels and beautifully muted cinematography really captured an aura to it all.

It would cost me about $42 to import this from Amazon.uk, plus shipping, or I can get the blu-ray for $20. Well, that was an easy decision.

I refuse to pay more than twice the price when the increase in quality is not twice as good. $25-$30 is all I am willing to pay for a single title on 4K. I want to support the new format, but the title needs to be sanely priced and, preferably, readily available in my hemisphere.

See, this is why Americans need better education.

I can't argue with that; Americans do need better education and I could benefit from more myself.

I import 3D titles, but I have read on these forums that 4K discs are super sensitive to any imperfections, or damage, and I am concerned that the far longer shipping time inherent with importing, and Amazon's shoddy packaging, increases the probability of receiving a damaged disc, which would then be a royal pain to exchange.

Universal Pictures Germany confirmed the 4K plans, for a May 24th release.

Regular German Blu-ray is set on April 17th, this could move to May as well then...

really hope Focus/Universal releases this stateside, and doesn't relegate this to 4K UHD 'streaming' as it currently is slated for release as such on FandangoNow.

I would be very surprised if they don't release it here. As I've said many times before, the situation with Darkest Hour (and likely, Phantom Thread) is probably identical to what happened with Get Out and Split last year, where 1080p Blu-rays are released in the US first, and UHD BD discs are released in tandem with the international Blu-rays 2-3 months (or more) later.
