I've finally got a little bit of money saved up, and I was wondering if this Sony HT-SS2000 is able to play some of the HD audio from my PS3. I'm not an audio expert by any means, but from I can tell by reading about this system is it should be able to play the Dolby TrueHD tracks from my PS3 via LPCM. Is that right? I know the PS3 can't decode MasterHD audio, but I don't have any surround sound (yea, I know, what a waste) so I can live with the standard 5.1 tracks on those titles. Could somebody who knows about this system, or HD audio help me?
-Thanks |

Just making sure though, the HT-SF2000 and the HT-SS2000 can both play the Dolby True HD and Uncompressed PCM from my PS3, right?

I had looked at getting the 605, but that's all I could get lol. I'd have to wait to get some speakers to go along with it. I was hoping that this would be a nice all in one system that I could get that could play the TrueHD tracks from the ps3.

well the htss2000 and htsf2000 are the same aside from speaker stands. i have the s2000 and it sounds great in my 14x14 livingroom. the bass from the sub is ok but since i live in an apartment it doesnt matter to me because i turn it down anyways. if you get the 2000 system make sure to cal it manual and dont use auto cal. to be truthful i could of spent $2000 on a reciever and speakers but the noticable difference is not worth $1350 to me unless you have a dedicated home theatre room.

You however won't be able to play movies sampled at 96kHz while still displaying 1080p video. However, no movies are. |
